EURICO ROSA DA SILVA
Eurico, a seven-time Sovereign Award winner as Outstanding Jockey, retired at the top of his game as top rider at Woodbine in December 2019. Brazilian born, the multi-faceted athlete now makes Ontario his home and is not only a devoted husband and father of three young children, but is also an accredited performance coach, dynamic speaker, third degree Black Belt holder and co-owner of a Tae Kwon Do studio.
Champion jockey, Eurico Rosa Da Silva, bares his soul in his memoir, “Riding for Freedom” (co-written by journalist Bruce McDougall). Read how he experienced a harrowing upbringing in a poor Brazilian farming community and troubling family dynamics but was eventually able to conquer his personal demons.

VICKY EARLE
Vicky Earle is the author of the Meg Sheppard Mystery Series and the recipient of a Canada
Book Award. The fast-paced, action-packed mysteries unfurl within the worlds of thoroughbred horse racing and country living. Vicky draws on her many years of experience as an owner and
breeder (together with her husband) of thoroughbred racehorses and her life on a small horse farm.
She was the CEO of the Ontario SPCA for several years. Vicky is a member of Sisters in Crime (National) and Sisters in Crime, Toronto Chapter, and a member of the Uxbridge Writers’ Circle.

JENNIFER MORRISON
Jennifer Morrison has been covering horse racing in Canada for over 30 years and her work has appeared in the Toronto Star,Canadian Thoroughbred, and Blood-Horse. She has won three Sovereign Awards from the Jockey Club of Canada for feature writing and a Sovereign Award as part of the television show Talkin Horses. Jennifer has worked on the backstretch, owned horses, and hosted seminars and backstretch tours are her home track of Woodbine. She is also a public handicapper for Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse Racing.

It is the comeback story of a horse whose outlook was bleak after his first few disappointing races and got worse when the pandemic largely shut down horse racing. It is the comeback story of an owner, Larry Cordes, who had stepped away from racing after suffering a series of personal tragedies.
