Open House POSTPONED!

The LongRun Spring Open house has been postponed!

Yesterday we received a new horse on the farm who had shipped in from Woodbine. He was inadvertently transported in the same trailer as a horse on his way to the Ontario Veterinary College, who was subsequently diagnosed with Equine Herpes Virus. Although that horse’s nasal swab was negative when he arrived at Guelph, and the attending veterinarians advise us that there is little chance that our newcomer is infected, we will be monitoring him closely and exercising an excess of caution by shutting down the LongRun farm for a period of two weeks. We will be following the same protocol that Woodbine has put in place on the barn of the affected horse’s origin. We are truly sorry if this decision has inconvenienced and disappointed you but we are sure you, as horse lovers will agree, that their health and safety must come first. We plan to reschedule our Open House at a later date and hope you will still be able to come and visit our wonderful equine athletes.
